Workshops & Experiences for individuals & groups

Charlotte is a great tutor - her enthusiasm is obvious and her honest, down-to-earth approach to teaching potentially challenging subjects is really engaging. Her practical and varied teaching methods helped facts ‘stick’ a lot easier in my mind and brought the topics to life. I felt like I learnt a lot in a very short space of time and it left me hungry for more!

Why not be surprised, fascinated and delighted by the flavours and facts your food can offer? When we think about the people, places and politics that shape what we eat, food becomes a window into the world. I can provide tailored workshops, tasting experiences or excursions for individuals and groups who want to connect with food beyond the plate and learn about a wide range of food related topics.

Workshops & Tutoring

Food workshops can be a great way of bringing a group together for a delicious and informative day, exploring a huge range of topics from gut health to food growing.

My workshops involve discussion, making and doing, and plenty of tasting. They usually include coffees, cake and a good leisurely lunch, but can be tailored to the time, space and resources you have available.

Past workshops have explored:

  • fermentation
  • foraging
  • rabbit skinning
  • the politics of the food system
  • food and social media
  • ...and much, much more.

Prices & Availability

Prices and availability for workshops and experiences vary depending on what you're looking for. Please do get in touch to discuss your ideas and needs, and we can come up with a proposal to suit you.

Food is inherently experiential, and getting out into the field is one of the best ways to learn. Whether you want to know more about a particular product, or want to explore a topic such as sustainable meat production or raw milk cheesemaking, I can be your guide taking you to key producers and purveyors and helping you better understand the broader facts and issues.

Experiences could include:

  • product tastings
  • guided visits to restaurants, businesses, producers and markets
  • farm visits

Workshops and experiences are also perfect as team building exercises and staff away days.
